Vintage Camping Photo Shoot

“Whatever form it takes, camping is earthy, soul enriching and character building, and there can be few such satisfying moments as having your tent pitched and the smoke rising from your campfire as the golden sun sets on the horizon–even if it’s just for a fleeting moment before the rain spoils everything.” ― Pippa Middleton, Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends Despite rain being pretty much a guarantee here in the Pacific Northwest (we aren’t called the evergreen state for nothing!) we still find inspiration among the tall cedars and damp earth and were pleased to help create this delightful Vintage Camping Photo Shoot. Coordinated by Hannah Bush from Urbanista Weddings (whom also provided décor, camping props, clothing along with her hair and makeup skills!) this shoot went beyond the typical photo-session and ended up creating a night not only of inspiration (we’re thinking engagement party for the true NW outdoorsy couple and their tribe) but a night of industry bonding. Liz made some hand pies with homemade raspberry filling. The Pear looking things were actual pears, that were cored from the bottom and filled with cinnamon and brown sugar then wrapped in homemade pie dough. Glazed then baked. The yummy looking stuff in the jars was an apple/pear and cinnamon crisp with homemade whipped cream on top. The whipped cream was extra thick so as to withstand the heat and not completely melt. The thing that really stands out to me about this shoot, was that we thoroughly enjoyed the whiskey, gin and campfire afterwards. We roasted Italian Sausage, potatoes, veggies and Apple Cider in cast iron skillets, over the open fire. We used real camping dishes and ate the desserts that Liz provided. I took the bouquet home and enjoyed it for several days afterwards.” Want to recreate this Vintage Camping shoot?
