Seattle Vintage Speakeasy Wedding Inspiration Photo Shoot

~Speakeasy – a saloon or nightclub selling alcoholic beverages illegally, especially during the Prohibition era.~

Speakeasies, also known as a “blind pig” or a “blind tiger,” had been part of the American scene since at least the 1890s and reached their heyday after the 18th Amendment took effect in January 1920 – the beginning of the Prohibition era. Although the exact origins of the term are unknown, it is a common thought that the name arose from how prospective patrons had to whisper—or “speak easy”—through a small opening in a door to enter the illegal establishments, providing the name of the person who had sent them. At the beginning of the year we collaborated with a great team of Seattle wedding professionals lead by Celise Callahan Weddings & Events to create a Vintage Speakeasy Wedding Inspirational Shoot. Filled with feathers, classic black, gold and ivory palette, this styled shoot encompassed all “the glitz and glamour of the roaring 1920’s – with a bit of hipster flair”. Here are a few of our favorite shots showcasing Vintage Ambiance antique and vintage rentals from ij Photography:
