Pike Place Market: Seattle Ambiance

We love Seattle.  We love the evergreen trees.  The grey days filled with drizzle.  The ferry’s gliding across the sparking waters. The people… and there’s no better place to people-watch, shop, eat and really experience Seattle than at the Pike Place Market.  Where else can you see men throwing fish, hoards of people sticking gum to a wall, grab a cup of joe from the first Starbucks location, have an apple cider slushy (from The Juice Emporium), or enjoy such stunning views of the Puget Sound?!

Overlooking the Elliot Bay waterfront, the Pike Place Market is the oldest continually operating farmers’ market in the United States. Founded August 17th, 1907, our public market offers shopping, including apparel, art, books, candies, tea, florists, gifts, health and nutrition, home and kitchen supplies, imports, jewelry, smoke shops and toys; a crafts market, that represents 225 local and regional craftspeople; specialty foods from dozens of speciality food stores including cheese, meats, baked goods, seafood, spices, oils, grains and more; restaurants, including bakeries, bistros, and casual dinning; and of course, the farmers market where farmers sell their locally grown produce and products to shoppers seven days a week, 362 days a year. Then of course, theirs the whole event side of the market.  Event facilities can accommodate 10-200 guests in their spacious event facilities that feature wooden floors, high ceilings and spectacular views of Elliot Bay, the street of Pike Place and the iconic neon Public Market clock.

Today, in honor of the Markets 108th anniversary, we’re featuring a few photos of our decor from an assortment of events that Vintage Ambiance had the pleasure to supply our antique decor for.
