Inspired by the Fall season and all the lovely plump pumpkins we’re seeing everywhere, we’ve chosen Pantone’s Tangerine as this month’s Color Inspiration.

What Pantone has to say:
“Spontaneous and gregarious, PANTONE 15-1247 Tangerine is a juicy orange shade that is energizing, yet not jarring to the eye. Versatile Tangerine is striking enough to stand on its own and adds vitality to a printed pattern. Good natured and friendly, but with a tangy edge, this fun-loving color invites a smile.”

What Color Psychology has to say:
“The color psychology of orange is optimistic and uplifting, rejuvenating our spirit. In fact orange is so optimistic and uplifting that we should all find ways to use it in our everyday life, even if it is just an orange colored pen that we use.  Orange brings spontaneity and a positive outlook on life and is a great color to use during tough economic times, keeping us motivated and helping us to look on the bright side of life.  The color orange relates to social communication, stimulating two way conversations. A warm and inviting color, it is both physically and mentally stimulating, so it gets people thinking and talking!

What we say:
Orange is the perfect pop of color for your wedding or event, as it’s uplifting and positive hue exudes warmth and happiness and puts everyone in a happy and festive mood.  This color works perfectly for a Mad Men-inspired wedding or event, as the 1960’s was teeming with this vibrant color. We also love seeing it during the Fall season when nature herself is filled with multiple hues of this cheery color. Lastly, you can never go wrong with a vibrant pop of color, such as this, to really make a table, sofa, bouquet or bowtie.

How to use it in your decor:
Add orange to your lounge area with accent pillows; make the bar area pop with drink ware that features orange through glassware or straws; use pumpkins as apart of your floral arrangements; try stacking mandarin oranges in vases or atop compote vases and cake stands to add that pop of color – and be a fresh, fruit favor too!
